New Mexicans deserve a federal government that works for them, not a presidential administration that only looks out for themselves.\n\nIn 2025, Senator Luj\u00e1n has fought in Congress to defend New Mexicans from extreme policies, mass firings, and deep cuts to federal programs that New Mexicans rely on.\n\nLearn more about how Senator Luj\u00e1n has held the Trump administration accountable here.\n\nHelping New Mexicans in 2025\n\nIn 2025, Senator Luj\u00e1n saved constituents over $7.4 million, helped close 1,204 constituent cases on issues ranging from taking care of our state\u2019s veterans to helping our seniors collect their benefits. Of the legislative work that Senator Luj\u00e1n championed, 6 bills authored by Senator Luj\u00e1n were signed into law.\n\nSignificant initiatives Senator Luj\u00e1n championed this year include:\n\nSenator Luj\u00e1n led the Senate Democratic Caucus in proposing legislative solutions to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits that make health care affordable for families in New Mexico and people across the country.\n\nSenator Luj\u00e1n led the Senate Democratic Caucus in introducing legislation to repeal the devastating Republican cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) made in the Republican Budget Betrayal.\n\nBased on years of work spearheading legislation to strengthen the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) program, Senator Luj\u00e1n helped secure an expansion and extension of RECA to compensate victims of radiation and uranium mine workers.
