This funding will assist in improvements to the water treatment facility in Philippi and the Sanity Sewer System in Spencer.\r\n\u201cImproving the infrastructure of rural West Virginia is vital to ensuring the economic success of both the local businesses and public facilities of the region,\u201d said Senator Manchin. \u201cThese investments are an indication to the residents of Spencer and Philippi that their hard-work to improve West Virginia is noticed, and I\u2019m excited to witness the benefits that come as a result of the projects.\u201d\r\n\u201cAccess to basic services is important for the well-being of West Virginians,\u201d said Senator Capito. \u201cFederal funding for infrastructure projects allows local leaders to improve these services, and contributes to economic growth in our communities. I will continue to fight for funding that maintains a high quality-of-life for West Virginians.\u201d\r\nThe Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal and storm water drainage to households and businesses in eligible rural areas.
