The projects will support a sewer\r\nline expansion at Yeager Airport and flood control infrastructure in Beverly.\r\nThe two projects will create and retain over\r\n600 jobs. I\r\nam pleased with the EDA's continued investment in West Virginia through\r\neconomic development projects across the state, including the two announced\r\ntoday. In 2018, I helped secure funding through the Federal Aviation\r\nAdministration (FAA) to extend Eagle Mountain Road and expand development\r\nopportunities at the airport. The sewer line is the final piece of the puzzle\r\nand it's critical for the development of the Marshall University Bill Noe\r\nFlight School based at the airport. I explained the importance of this award to\r\nthe EDA, and I'm pleased to see this is one of the first awards from the new\r\nfiscal year, said Senator Manchin. I'm also pleased the EDA is\r\nassisting Beverly with project to protect their community and businesses. West\r\nVirginia has been battered by floods over the years, destroying homes and\r\ncommunities and taking too many innocent lives from us. Investing in flood\r\ncontrol infrastructure provides our communities with the security and safety\r\nthey deserve. West\r\nVirginia's partnership with EDA has consistently helped improve our state's\r\ninfrastructure, increase transportation, and develop the economies of our\r\nlocalities and communities. I am thrilled to see these two awards coming into\r\nareas of West Virginia. As our economy continues to expand, improving the\r\nquality of our airport infrastructure is a critical step, and will attract\r\nadditional aerospace business to the region.Expanding our water\r\ninfrastructure is an equally important task, and will help sustain a better\r\nquality of life and opportunities for business in the Mountain State. I will\r\ncontinue to foster a positive relationship between West Virginia and the EDA so\r\nthat we continue to receive an appropriate federal share on improvement\r\nprojects like these,said Senator Capito.
