Joe Manchin: Bipartisan 'Collins plan' to end shutdown has something for everyone | Washington Times \n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tDemocratic Sen. Joe Manchin said Monday he supports a plan from Republican Sen. Susan Collins to end the government shutdown and extend the nation\u2019s debt limit because it includes something for everyone, including reforms to the new health care law.\r\nMr. Manchin, of West Virginia, said it is \u201cunconscionable\u201d to think Congress is pushing the debate toward Thursday, the Treasury-designated deadline to extent the nation\u2019s borrowing authority.\r\n\u201cYou let this thing start tumbling down, and you\u2019re affecting a lot of people,\u201d he told MSNBC\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe.\u201d\r\nThe markets, Mr. Manchin said, need to understand that \u201cwe are the greatest country on Earth.\u201d\r\nHe said he started talking to the likes of Ms. Collins and Sen.
