Through the USDA Rural Development\u2019s Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program, this funding will provide assistance and financing to develop drinking water and waste disposal systems for communities with 10,000 or fewer residents.\r\n\u201cInvesting in water infrastructure projects in rural communities not only improves the quality of life for our local residents, but preserves countless good-paying jobs, boosts economic development and improves the prosperity of our families, businesses and communities,\u201d Senator Manchin said. \u201cI am pleased these projects will receive the funding needed to improve the water systems in Braxton, Fayette, Marion and Nicholas counties and will expand water services to underserved communities that truly need it.\u201d\r\n\u201cMaintaining and improving access to our water and wastewater infrastructure is critical for communities throughout the state, including rural towns like Sutton, Monongah, Nettie and Pax,\u201d said Senator Capito, a member of the Appropriations Committee. \u201cThis USDA funding is welcome news for these areas as they work to improve water infrastructure systems and strengthen local economies and the reason why I advocated for an increase in this program in this year\u2019s Agriculture Appropriations bill.\u201d\r\nThe individual award amounts below:\r\n \r\nFlatwoods-Canoe Run PSD \u2013 Exchange Road Waterline Extension Phase I \u2013 $570,000 (Loan), $570,000 (Grant)\r\nMonongah \u2013 Water System Improvements Phase II \u2013 $5,950,000 (Loan), $950,000 (Grant)\r\nNettie-Leivasy Public Service District \u2013 Water System Improvements \u2013 $2,753,000 (Loan)\r\nPax \u2013 Willis Branch Sewer Project \u2013 $236,000 (Loan), $555,000 (Grant)\r\n \r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.manchin.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ContentRecord_id=5F4CCF5A-BFD3-4DD7-B169-0670B94FC4DD"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.4664558693766594, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
