The grants will help end homelessness among the veteran population in West Virginia by providing financial assistance to help homeless veterans find housing and seek additional services offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.\r\n\u201cWest Virginia\u2019s Veterans and their families have made unimaginable sacrifices to keep us safe, and it is simply unacceptable that so many of them are living in poverty,\u201d Senator Manchin said. \u201cWhen these men and women return home they deserve the best care, and that begins with making sure they have access to safe and adequate housing. This funding will provide our Veterans and their families with the housing assistance they need and deserve.\u201d\r\n\u201cOur veterans have made incredible sacrifices on our behalf,\u201d said Senator Capito. \u201cAs the daughter of a World War II veteran and a staunch supporter of our servicemen and women, I strongly believe that these individuals deserve the very best when they return home.
