This funding will be used to increase testing for viral Hepatitis and to connect those living with the disease to care and treatment services.\r\n\u201cThe opioid crisis plaguing communities across West Virginia has led to a rise in the number of individuals infected with Hepatitis B and C,\u201d\u00a0Senator Manchin said. \u201cThis funding is essential for helping our dedicated health professionals diagnose, treat, and ultimately prevent these diseases. This funding will help us build a stronger, healthier West Virginia.\u201d\r\n\u201cWith Hepatitis B and C rates on the rise in West Virginia due to increased drug-use, there is a need to increase screenings for these forms of the Hepatitis virus.
