The facilities set to receive funding are Community Care of West Virginia in Rock Cave and Williamson Health and Wellness Center. The funding will help these community health centers strengthen and expand their health and wellness services, and begin to service more than 5,000 additional patients.\r\n\u201cEspecially in underserved and rural areas, improving access to quality health care is a major priority for the people of West Virginia,\u201d said Manchin.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s so important that our families can get the preventive and primary care that will keep them healthy, and this funding will help these facilities provide the best possible preventive care, treatment and health services.\u201d\r\n\u201cWhen I first came to West Virginia, I was struck by the number of adults and children who\u2019d never been to a dentist, or visited a doctor for a basic check-up. Since then, I\u2019ve been committed to helping the uninsured and those living in underserved communities in our state access good medical care,\u201d Rockefeller said. \u201cThis funding is so important because it will boost the health care services provided by two important community health centers \u2013 and in turn, that\u2019s going to boost the foundation we have in West Virginia to support and maintain a healthier population.\u201d\r\n\u201cCommunity health centers, like in Williamson, are critical to expanding access to high-quality, primary and preventive care services in southern West Virginia.\u00a0 This funding will go a long way toward addressing the unmet health care needs of our region, while boosting local employment and economic growth,\u201d said Rahall.\r\nThe $1,516,667 in federal funding comes from the Affordable Care Act through the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HHS/HRSA) Health Access Point Grant Program. This initiative provides grant funding to community health centers to help increase their ability to provide comprehensive health care, including primary and preventive care, to underserved areas and areas with high numbers of uninsured.\u00a0\r\nThe individual award amounts are:\r\n\u2022\u00a0$812,500 \u2013 Williamson Health and Wellness Center \u2013 Williamson, W. Va.  \u2022\u00a0$704,167 \u2013 Community Care of West Virginia \u2013 Rock Cave, W.
