U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on the formation of a 34-Muslim nation counterterrorism alliance:\r\nThe fact that senior Administration officials were totally unaware of plans to form a counterterrorism alliance by 34 Muslim nations reflects the diminishing influence of the United States and the erosion of confidence of our closest Arab partners in Americas leadership under this Administration.
