Claire McCaskill said Monday that she supports the upcoming public release of a Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA interrogation practices, calling it a \u201cgut check moment.\u201d\r\n\u201cIt exposes what the world already knows and that is that the United States engaged in torture, but my feeling about this is that this is a gut check moment for our democracy,\u201d the Democrat said on \u201cCBS This Morning.\u201d\r\n\r\n\r\nMcCaskill said the release of the report is \u201cessential\u201d in holding the government and specifically the CIA accountable.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\u201cThis report would never happen in North Korea, or China or Russia,\u201d she added. \u201cIf it doesn\u2019t come out, then we all need to get comfortable with the fact that in America, the CIA has no oversight.\u201d\r\nOthers, including House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, have warned that release of the report could lead to violence in countries around the globe.\r\nThe report details the CIA\u2019s treatment of detainees in a program set up by President George W.
