Political groups shouldn't be able to hide who's funding them and overturning this rule will reestablish some much-needed transparency.\r\nThe McCaskill-backed plan would overturn the U.S. Treasury Department's controversial new rule that allows certain dark money and tax-exempt non-profit organizations that engage in political activity to hide their donors. Overturning the rule would require special interest groups to disclose their major donors' identities to the IRS, bringing transparency to campaign funding.\r\nThis July, McCaskill pushed to require dark-money political action committees to disclose major donors to bring more transparency to political advertisements. McCaskill has also backed a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's Citizens United v.
