With Anti-Semitic Affiliations", "2023-12-13", "2023", "2023-12", "Republican", "Senate", "KY", "Mitch McConnell", "M000355", "www.mcconnell.senate.gov", "mcconnell", "https://www.mcconnell.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/pressreleases", "scraper", "WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) delivered the following remarks today on the Senate floor regarding judicial nominations:\n\n\u201cThis morning, the Judiciary Committee is examining another slate of President Biden\u2019s nominees to join the federal bench.\n\n\u201cOver the past three years, our colleagues on the committee have met and considered an alarming parade of nominees whose conduct or lack of legal qualifications made them so wildly unfit for confirmation that they had to be withdrawn.\n\n\u201cFrom the First Circuit nominee known best for helping defend an elite prep school against a victim of sexual assault\u2026 to the Kansas District nominee who the American Bar Association was expected to find \u2018not qualified\u2019 for judicial service.\n\n\u201cUnfortunately, today\u2019s nominees include yet another head-spinning example of the Biden Administration\u2019s radical approach to filling the federal bench.\n\n\u201cAdeel Mangi is the President\u2019s nominee to serve as Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Since graduating from Harvard Law, he\u2019s spent his career in private practice.\n\n\u201cBut for years, he\u2019s also served on the board of a Rutgers student organization that facilitates and amplifies grotesque, anti-Semitic activism.\n\n\u201cFor example, on the 20th anniversary of September 11th, the Center for Security, Race and Rights at Rutgers Law School hosted speaking engagements for a ringleader of recent calls for an intifada in the United States and a convicted supporter of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.\n\n\u201cFor those who need reminding, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas are holding hostages \u2013 including Americans \u2013 in Gaza as we speak.\n\n\u201cAmerican Jews are facing an historic wave of anti-Semitic hate.
