That\u2019s the hard truth of the monthly inflation report. And it\u2019s worth remembering where it came from.\n\n\u201cVice President Harris has said, quote: \u2018We are very proud of Bidenomics.\u2019 Wells she should be!\n\n\u201cAfter all, it was the Vice President herself whose votes here in the Senate helped send our economy into an historic inflationary spiral.\n\n\u201cBack in March 2021, she cast the tie-breaking vote on the motion to proceed to the so-called American Rescue Plan Act. And in August 2022, she did the same for passage of the so-called Inflation Reduction Act.\n\n\u201cSure enough, the Vice President is rather proud of this record. The way she tells it, quote: \u2018through all our work, President Biden and I are building an economy that works for working people.\u2019\n\n\u201cBut does it really? If you ask some of the folks I talked to last month, you\u2019d likely hear a different story.\n\n\u201cTwo years on, high prices in the wake of the Inflation Reduction Act are still forcing working Americans to make tough choices. A mother in North Carolina told a reporter recently \u2018Sometimes I have to choose whether I'm going to pay the light bill\u2026or do I pay all the rent or buy food or not let my son do a sport?\u2019\n\n\u201cSurging prices are especially challenging for seniors on a fixed income.\n\n\u201cOne Pennsylvania retiree observed recently that she was \u2019down to eating ramen for lunch, which I never ate in my life until recently\u2026If it\u2019s not marked down, I just don\u2019t eat it. I haven\u2019t eaten beef since I don\u2019t know when. I can\u2019t afford it.\u2019\n\n\u201cThis is the economy that Vice President Harris has said is \u2018working for working people\u2019.\n\n\u201cThis is Bidenomics in action.
