{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.mcsally.senate.gov/mcsally-secures-arizona-wins-funding-package", "McSally Secures Arizona Wins in Funding Package", "2019-12-19", "2019", "2019-12", "Republican", "House", "AZ", "Martha McSally", "M001197", "www.mcsally.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "U.S. SENATE  U.S. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) secured several wins for Arizona in the appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2020.\nWhile this funding bill is imperfect, it provided much needed funding and certainty for our troops, plus key wins that I fought forand wonfor Arizona, said McSally.\nWe secured $152 million for the San Luis Port of Entry due to our tireless advocacy, McSally continued. It was the only port project in the country funded in the bill and will modernize cross-border commerce and security at that critical port.\nAdditionally, this bill fully funds the A-10 fleet with upgrades, provides the biggest pay raise for our men and women in uniform in a decade, affords nearly $190 million for two new military construction projects at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, and invests in veteran treatment courts and veteran mental health programs.\nMcSally Accomplishments in FY20 Appropriations Package:\nDefense\n \n\tFull funding ofA-10 fleet\n\t20 additional F-35s to maintain the health of the F-35 pilots, which are trained at and deployed from Luke AFB and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma\n \nMilitary Construction, Veterans Affairs\n \n\t$189M for two military construction projects at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma\n\t$9.4B for veteran mental health care programs\n \nState, Foreign Operations\n \n\t$3.3 Billion for Foreign Military Financing Program funding for Israel, including funding for US-Israel Energy Cooperation programs\n\t$1.65 billion for economic and military assistance for Jordan\n \nTransportation, Housing and Urban Development\n \n\tFunding for several programs that will improve housing affordability for Arizonans, including:\n\t\n\t\t$3.4 billion for the Community Development Block Grant, a $100M increase over FY19\n\t\t$793 million for section 202 housing for the elderly\n\t\t$825 million for the Native American Housing Block Grant Program\n\t\t$40 million for HUD-VASH vouchers to help veterans find and sustain permanent housing\n\t\n\t\n\tFunding for several programs to rebuild our nation's infrastructure, including:\n\t\n\t\t$4.9 billion for DOT's Section 5307/Urbanized Area Formula Grants Program\n\t\t$1 billion Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grants.\n\t\t$1 billion for Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grants.\n\t\t$170 million for FAA contract towers\n\t\n\t\n \nHomeland Security\n \n\t$104M in new funding to support over 800 new positions in the Office of Field Operations to include 610 additional Officers and Agriculture\n\t$1.375B in clean border barrier funding\n \nCommerce, Justice, Science\n \n\t$23 million included for veteran treatment courts programs\n\t$37M included for Transitional Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault Program\n \nInterior\n \n\tForest Service required to report on efforts to streamline the Four Forest Restoration Initiative\n\t$16.7M included for Grand Canyon Water Infrastructure Improvements\n \nAgriculture\n \n\t$175M for Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations, $25 million increase over FY19\n\t$2 million included for Pet and Women Safety Act (PAWS) Grants\n \nFinancial Services and General Government\n \n\t$152.4M in new funding for the San Luis Port of Entry\n\t$2.51B for IRS Taxpayer services  will assist with implementation of Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as well as recent healthcare extenders\n \nEnergy &amp; Water\n \n\tTwo-year extension for implementing the White Mountain Apache Tribe water settlement which is a key element of Arizona's overall water security\n \n \n\tFunding for several USACE projects that are important to Arizona, including:\n\t\n\t\t$2.9 million for Alamo Lake State Park\n\t\t$1.2 million for the Painted Rock Dam in Gila Bend\n\t\t$559,000 for the Whitlow Ranch Dam in Queen Valley\n\t\n\t\n \nLabor, Health, and Human Services\n \n\t$41.6 billion for NIH, a $2.6 billion increase\n\t\n\t\t$350 million increase for targeted Alzheimer's research\n\t\tBill also includes $10M in new funding for Alzheimer's public health and prevention programs authorized in theBOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer's Act.\n\t\n\t\n\tIncludes $311 million for the DOL Veterans Employment and Training Service, an $11 million increase over FY19\n \n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.mcsally.senate.gov/mcsally-secures-arizona-wins-funding-package"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.0157031938433647, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
