Every veteran\r\nis impacted by their service differently and we owe them the best possible\r\naccess to care, McSally said. I was pleased to see my bill to help\r\nveterans access innovative and potentially life-changing therapies signed into\r\nlaw as part of broader mental health legislation. My bill requires the VA to\r\nlaunch a study into posttraumatic growth therapy, which can help turn veterans\r\nlives around. In addition, the broader bill will increase much-needed funding\r\nfor state and local suicide prevention groups and improve VA telehealth access.\r\nThis is a crucial initiative to save lives and improve mental health care for\r\nveterans in our country. Background: On Jan. 28, Senators McSally and Tim Kaine (D-VA) introduced\r\nthe Veterans Posttraumatic Growth Act. McSally's\r\nVeterans Posttraumatic Growth Act requires the VA to conduct a pilot program to\r\nstudy the benefits of nonprofit posttraumatic growth programs relative to\r\ntraditional models of mental health care. Posttraumatic growth therapy and\r\nwhole health therapy address many factors in a person's life, such as\r\nrelationships, family, jobs, finances, and others, instead of focusing solely\r\non traditional therapies and pharmaceutical options. ###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.mcsally.senate.gov/news/press-releases/president-signs-mcsallys-ptsd-treatment-bill-into-law"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8940021507441998, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
