The report was a whitewash. And it certainly doesnt give us any more insight into Irans past activities or future intentions. The U.S. should not have agreed to shut the door on further investigating the possible military dimensions of Irans nuclear weapon programs based on a diluted, inconclusive investigation.\r\nThis sets a terrible precedent for the IAEA with respect to investigations in other countries and more importantly, does not provide the United States with full information on the scope and progress of Irans nuclear weapons program  information that is critical to guide the IAEAs inspection and verification regime under the JCPOA.\r\nIt is also a green light for Irans regime, which is watching closely, and which will continue to test the limits of the JCPOA and the international community. If ever there is a time to send a strong message, the time is now. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to join me in extending the Iran Sanctions Act beyond its 2016 sunset.\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.menendez.senate.gov/news-and-events/press/menendez-on-iaea-board-vote-to-close-investigation-into-iran-nuclear-weapons-activities-"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6374592669308186, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
