I joined my colleagues on the floor last night to fight for America, ban congressional insider trading and pass voter ID. Both measures would restore trust in the People\u2019s Government \u2013 something our country desperately needs.\u201d\n\nBACKGROUND:\n\nLast night, Senator Moody took to the senate floor to move for unanimous consent on the Stop Insider Trading Act, which was passed by the House in bipartisan fashion last week. The act would generally prohibit Members of Congress and their spouses and dependent children from purchasing stocks and requiring public notice before selling stocks. The measure also would instate national voter ID requirements. Senator Moody has supported similar efforts in the Senate, and is an original cosponsor of the SAVE America Act.\n\nSenate Democrats objected to the measure.\n\nSenator Moody has fought to ban stock trading by members.
