I appreciate the support from my colleagues to fund critical programs that strengthen our nation\u2019s federal law enforcement, invest in NASA\u2019s Artemis program, support scientific research, and improve our economic competitiveness.\u201d\n\nItems to Note:\n\nDepartment of Justice \u2013 $36.9 billion to fight violent crime and drug trafficking networks, counter foreign threats, and bolster local law enforcement capabilities.\n\nFederal Judiciary Security \u2013 Includes additional funding for safety and security of federal judiciary officials, including the protection of Supreme Court justices.\n\nDefense Capabilities \u2013 Includes $6.6 billion for defense functions, including the FBI\u2019s national security and counterintelligence missions.\n\nLocal Law Enforcement \u2013 $569 million for grants that support police and sheriff departments.\n\nDrug Enforcement Administration (DEA) \u2013 $2.6 billion to dismantle the cartels that are flooding the U.S. with fentanyl.\n\nDepartment of Commerce \u2013 $10.9 billion for investments that strengthen our economy, including trade promotion and enforcement, weather forecasting, oceanic and atmospheric monitoring, scientific and technical research, broadband deployment, and the protection of intellectual property.\n\nNational Weather Service (NWS) \u2013 Fully funds the life-saving functions of the NWS and 24/7 staffing at Weather Forecast Offices nationwide.\n\nSpace Exploration \u2013 $24.9 billion for NASA for space exploration and flagship programs such as the Artemis campaign, human spaceflight, and maintaining launch services like SLS and Orion.\n\nNational Science Foundation \u2013 $9 billion to continue essential research, and prioritizes emerging technologies, including advanced manufacturing, AI and quantum science.\n\n# # #", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T18:48:13Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.moran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ID=04C517D7-79B5-4A8F-A04D-A5EF4BD024A6"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.4644809998571873, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
