Roger Marshall, M.D., (R-Kan.) and U.S. Representatives Tracey Mann (KS-01), Derek Schmidt (KS-02), Sharice Davids (KS-03) and Ron Estes (KS-04) in announcing that the Trump administration will award $5.7 million in federal emergency aid to the state of Kansas.\n\nIn August 2025, Sen. Moran led the Kansas delegation in urging President Trump to make a disaster declaration for the State of Kansas following the severe wind storms, flooding and tornadoes that occurred from June 3 through June 7, 2025. Kansas Governor Laura Kelly formally submitted the request for federal support on August 6, 2025.\n\n\u201cKansans are no strangers to the severe impacts of natural disasters on our state,\u201d said Sen. Moran. \u201cI appreciate President Trump and FEMA approving Kansas\u2019 request for federal support and a major disaster declaration following the devastating storms, winds, tornadoes, and flooding endured by Kansas communities earlier this year. This declaration will provide our state and local governments with resources to help Kansans recover and rebuild even stronger.\u201d\n\n\u201cI am so thankful to President Trump and his administration for ensuring that Kansas communities have the critical assistance they need to rebuild after the severe storms in June of this year,\u201d said Sen.
