Everyone will be in jeopardy of losing their healthcare.\u00a0 This will leave no one untouched, if they unwind the Affordable Care Act without any plan for what comes next,\u201d Murphy said.\r\nThe senator says even if Republicans make the repeal effective several years in the future, the health insurance exchanges could still collapse, as insurers leave a market that would soon cease to exist.\r\nMurphy says the repeal would be \u2018cruel and brutal,\u2019 because it could undo protections provided under the law. Obamacare required insurers to provide coverage to people with pre-existing medical conditions, and it ended lifetime limits on what a health insurance policy would pay for coverage for a person.\r\nRepublican lawmakers are united on getting rid of the Affordable Care Act, but they are divided on what \u2014 if anything \u2014 should replace the health care law.\r\nSome GOP lawmakers say Obamacare must be eliminated as soon as possible because it is a threat to the nation\u2019s health care system.\r\nDonald Trump\u2019s election gives Republicans control of the White House and both houses of Congress \u2014 and a clear chance to overturn Barack Obama\u2019s signature healthcare law without a veto by the departing Democratic president.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.murphy.senate.gov/newsroom/in-the-news/murphy-slams-gop-plans-to-quickly-repeal-obamacare"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6068089753389359, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
