The\r\nlegislation authorizes the appropriation of funds for the Department of Defense\r\nand military construction that will help keep Connecticut families safe and\r\nsupport the state's defense manufacturing jobs. Murphy worked across the aisle\r\nto ensure bipartisan support on several key amendments that were included in\r\nfinal passage, including the Murphy-Schumer authored Law Enforcement Identification Act, which requires federal law enforcement officers\r\nand members of the armed forces to clearly identify themselves and their agency\r\nor service while they are engaged in responding to civil disturbance in the\r\nUnited States. As a\r\nmember of the Appropriations Committee, I'm proud to secure these wins for\r\nConnecticut manufacturers and our national security. The bill also includes my\r\nlegislation to require federal law enforcement officers to identify themselves\r\nand their agency when they are engaged in crowd control.
