Paul and Wyden introduced the USA Rights Act in the Senate to end warrantless backdoor searches of Americans\u2019 calls, emails, texts, and other communications that are routinely swept up under a program designed to spy on foreign targets. Representative Amash is sponsoring the amendment in the U.S. House.\n\n\u201cWe need more oversight of the intelligence community, not less,\u201d Dr. Paul stated at the event, later adding, \u201cWe need to make sure, because men are not angels, that there are rules.\u201d\n\n\u201cThis is a bedrock principle of our country \u2013 it\u2019s what brings Republicans and Democrats together \u2013 is that the Bill of Rights requires that information be gathered under the Fourth Amendment with probable cause.
