Brown\u2019s students and its neighbors are shaken. Some families, classmates, and loved ones are gathered together in hospital waiting rooms at this very moment waiting for updates on patients. We are with them in spirit. They will need the support of all us in the days ahead.\n\n\u201cAs the situation evolves, my office is in direct contact with the Mayor\u2019s office, university officials, and law enforcement, as well as some of the individuals impacted. As information comes in, I will continue to closely monitor the situation. The FBI and ATF are assisting and will work to ensure every federal resource required is available to assist the state, the City of Providence, and Brown University\u2019s police and public safety officials. We appreciate the hard work and professionalism of our first responders and hospital staff.\n\n\u201cEvery lead is being followed, every bit of video evidence reviewed, and the manhunt will relentlessly continue.
