An Omaha man, whose 20-year prison sentence was commuted by President Joe Biden, was charged for the shooting. Ricketts issued the following statement:\n\n\u201cIn 2018, Khyre Holbert was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses. During his last days in office, President Joe Biden let him out after serving less than half his time. Earlier this month, Khyre Holbert shot someone in the Old Market. This should never have happened.\n\nSoft on crime policies make Nebraskans less safe.
