The resolution was introduced in response to Communist China\u2019s political, economic, and military pressure on Japan. Senators Bill Hagerty (R-TN) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) co-sponsored this resolution.\n\n\u201cThe United States will always stand strong with Japan,\u201d said Ricketts. \u201cSince 1951, our alliance has served as the cornerstone of peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
