A clean extension would allow us the time to complete the regular appropriations process. Instead of good faith negotiations and ensuring American servicemembers are paid, Schumer demanded over $1 trillion of partisan spending. He demanded the elimination of the $50 billion Rural Hospital Stabilization Fund. He also demanded the addition of a burdensome staffing rule that would close rural nursing homes.
