Ricketts made the comments while on a conference call with Nebraska media.\n\n\u201cAs I\u2019ve said repeatedly, political violence is anti-American,\u201d Ricketts said. \u201cAny attempted political assassination is an attack against our very values. It\u2019s an attack on our republic. In our great country, we settle our disagreements with ballots, not bullets. We need to make sure it always stays that way.\u201d\n\nRicketts criticized the Secret Service for repeatedly refusing to answer questions about the assassination attempts. He called for a complete, swift, and transparent investigation.\n\n\u201cAny information gathered about either attempt must also be shared with the American people as soon as possible,\u201d Ricketts closed. \u201cEvery Nebraskan and Americans across the country should be confident that all presidential nominees will be protected equally.
