Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, subpoenaed AT&T, Verizon, and Lumen for records identifying the targets of Jack Smith\u2019s partisan investigation into President Trump, also known as \u201cArctic Frost.\u201d Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) joined Chairman Johnson on the cover letter to these companies.\n\nThese subpoenas will ensure that the companies will provide full and complete responses to the chairmen\u2019s ongoing requests for information relating to Jack Smith\u2019s efforts to acquire phone records from law abiding U.S. citizens, including Members of Congress.\n\n\u201cOver the last year, Chairman Grassley and I identified hundreds of individuals and entities that Jack Smith swept into his massive partisan dragnet, including Charlie Kirk\u2019s Turning Point USA and elected officials. In response to these subpoenas, I expect the telecom companies to identify even more people Jack Smith ruthlessly targeted as he weaponized the federal justice system against law-abiding patriots,\u201d Chairman Johnson stated.\n\nThe subpoenas follow the chairmen\u2019s extensive oversight of the Biden administration\u2019s efforts to cripple President Trump and his allies. Last year, Chairmen Johnson and Grassley revealed that the Biden Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) subpoenaed phone records belonging to at least 13 Members of Congress.
