Johnson joined 250 business owners Thursday at the La Crosse Area Development Corporation\u2019s 43rd annual meeting in La Crosse. Sen. Johnson delivered the keynote address.\r\n\u201cThat really is the foundation of this nation: The government should be close to the governed. It\u2019s more effective, it\u2019s more efficient, it\u2019s more Wisconsin,\u201d Johnson said in his remarks. \u201cLa Crosse is a perfect example of that. You\u2019re moving forward; you\u2019re successful.\u201d\r\nSen. Johnson discussed the opportunity the new Congress will have in 2015 to help America begin to succeed again. \u201cWe have not collectively admitted we have these problems. \u2026 We should be celebrating success, not demonizing it. ... We will marvel at the results if we have the foresight, if we have the intelligence, if we properly define the problems, if we look at the root cause and start addressing it with something we know works \u2013 the free-market competitive system.\u201d\r\n\u201cLet\u2019s find those areas of agreement. ...
