This bipartisan, bicameral legislation would remove legal barriers to allow voluntary, league-style Unified Boxing Organizations (UBOs) to compete alongside traditional promoters. It would also strengthen fighter protections and safety standards, while creating new opportunities for organizations to compete, giving boxers more choices and fans better matchups. The bill establishes a framework under which UBOs may organize fights, rank fighters, and award titles.\n\n\u201cI\u2019m honored to have the support of Muhammad Ali\u2019s grandson, Nico Ali Walsh, for our bipartisan bill to revitalize the American boxing industry, and I\u2019m incredibly grateful for his tireless work to improve this legislation. Earlier this year, Nico testified before the Senate Commerce Committee and provided helpful feedback about much-needed improvements to the original bill introduced in the House,\u201d said Senator Rosen. \u201cThe changes he advocated for were central to the drafting process, and I\u2019m thankful for his work to ensure this bill aligns with his grandfather\u2019s legacy to protect American boxers.
