Mexican President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador\u2019s plans, which amount to unilaterally abandoning a long-held science-based regulatory system, would threaten the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement (USMCA).\n\n\u201cThese actions are unsupported by science and a breach of USMCA. It would be detrimental to food security in Mexico, hurt U.S. agricultural sustainability, and stifle future agricultural technology innovations that would benefit both nations.
