This investment will expand the company\u2019s cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure presence in the state and support local workforce development programs.\n\n\u201cGoogle\u2019s investment in South Carolina is a testament to our state\u2019s vital role as a hub for America\u2019s digital economy and a global leader in AI innovation,\u201d said Sen. Scott. \u201cThis expansion is welcome news that will strengthen our workforce and reinforce our position at the forefront of technology.\u201d\n\n\u201cGoogle\u2019s investment in South Carolina deepens our 15 year roots here and helps to power America\u2019s next wave of innovation,\u201d said Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer, Alphabet and Google. \u201cBy expanding our data center, investing in energy affordability, and supporting local workforce development, we are solidifying the Palmetto State\u2019s role as a critical hub for the digital economy and creating opportunities for communities in South Carolina and across the country.
