The American people and our federal workers must not be held hostage by Washington politicians\u2019 games,\u201d said Senator Warnock.\n\nWith approximately 14,000 air traffic controllers and 61,000 Transportation Security Administration employees nationwide being forced to work without pay, the Keep America Flying Act is designed to avoid shutdown-related flight disruptions.\n\nThis bipartisan bill is supported by the National Association of Air Traffic Controllers. Senator Warnock previously broke with his own party and voted for the Shutdown Fairness Act, which would have provided funding to pay excepted federal employees and certain contractors during the current, and all future, government shutdowns. This legislation failed on the Senate floor.
