Since December 2017, Nikko has been\r\nSenator Warren's State Director. Nikko previously served in the administration\r\nof Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and the late Boston Mayor Thomas\r\nMenino. \"Anne is a gifted leader and committed public servant,\" said\r\nSenator Warren. \"Anne's experience serving our country and\r\nworking to improve the health and well-being of millions of Americans will be\r\ninvaluable as we continue our fights to level the playing field. I'm proud to have them on\r\nthe team.\" In addition to her service to Senator Warren and Secretary Burwell, for five\r\nyears, Anne served as a member of the professional staff of the U.S. House of\r\nRepresentatives Energy and Commerce (E&amp;C) Committee and Oversight &amp;\r\nGovernment Reform Committee for Representative Henry A. Waxman\r\n(D-Calif.). In her final year on the E&amp;C staff, she was the lead\r\nDemocratic staffercovering public health agencies and issues.\r\nDuring her tenure on the E&amp;C Committee,Annecollaborated with\r\nE&amp;C Republican and Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions staff on\r\nseveral bipartisan public health bills that advanced through the House and were\r\nsigned into law. She also drafted workforce provisions in the House\r\nhealth reform bill and helped steer the House health reform bill through\r\nE&amp;C.Anne previously served in the U.S. Senate as a legislative assistant\r\nto Senator Christopher A. Coons (D-Del.). Before joining Senator Warren's office,Nikkoworked as\r\nCommunications Director at the Massachusetts division of1199SEIU United\r\nHealthcare Workers East,the Commonwealth's largest healthcare union\r\nrepresenting nearly 60,000 members.Nikko also served for over three years\r\nin the administration of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick as Director of\r\nOperations, promoting theadministration's growth and opportunity policy\r\nagenda through strategic management and execution of gubernatorial events\r\nacross Massachusetts, the U.S. and abroad. Before that, she served as Governor\r\nPatrick's Deputy Director of Government Affairs, advancing the administration's\r\nlegislative and policy priorities, including legislation to address the rising\r\ncost of healthcare and proposals to curb youth violence. Nikko began her career\r\nin the office of Boston Mayor Thomas M.
