They were written in close consultation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Mississippi Department of Insurance, local officials, industry experts, and constituents. These bills would benefit homeowners, small business owners, and the overall stability of the program.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Specifically, the bills would:\r\n \r\nProvide NOAA with technical assistance to expedite implementation of the COASTAL Act and provide better data and information to homeowners (\u201cCOASTAL Implementation Act,\u201d S. 2093);\r\nDeliver relief for small business owners and nonprofits by allowing surcharges to be used for mitigation (\u201cSmall Business Surcharge Relief Act,\u201d S. 2091);\r\nEmpower local communities to take an active role in flood mapping (\u201cMunicipality Empowerment Mapping Achievement Act,\u201d S. 2090); and\r\nProvide continuing education for insurance agents to ensure that accurate information about flood policies is being presented to consumers (\u201cFlood Insurance Continuing Education and Training Act,\u201d S. 2092).", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.wicker.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ContentRecord_id=B5DDE942-245C-4992-BB75-58E118F7F133"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9303030092269182, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
