Yakym. \u201cFor too long, we have seen the officers who protect us demonized while excuses are made for the career criminals who terrorize our communities. It\u2019s dangerous, and as we\u2019ve seen recently, it has tragic consequences.\u201d\n\n\u201cI am grateful these three survived,\u201d Rep. Yakym continued. \u201cBut survival is not safety, and three shootings in two months cannot be ignored or normalized. It must be a wake-up call. Law and order does not sustain itself \u2014 it is upheld by the men and women who put on a badge and are willing to risk everything for strangers.
