{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://billjohnson.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=364354", "Bill Johnson Statement on Bipartisan Budget Act", "2013-12-12", "2013", "2013-12", "Republican", "House", "OH", "Bill Johnson", "J000292", "billjohnson.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "\"This bipartisan budget agreement, which passed the House today, represents a modest, but important, step forward in a Congress mired in gridlock and partisanship.\"\r\n          share:\r\n          f \r\n          t \r\n        \r\n      \r\n      WASHINGTON \u2013 Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Bipartisan Budget Act by a vote of 332-94: \u201cI am proud of the hard work that Congressman Ryan and Senator Murray put into this legislation.\u00a0 Thomas Jefferson once said that \u2018the ground of liberty is to be gained by inches.\u2019\u00a0 This bipartisan budget agreement, which passed the House today, represents a modest, but important, step forward in a Congress mired in gridlock and partisanship.\u00a0 This two year budget agreement would avoid another government shutdown in January, provide certainty to businesses and families, and put the budget process back on solid ground.\u00a0\r\n\u201cThis agreement protects our national security and defense capabilities around the world \u2013 capabilities that have diminished due to the President\u2019s sweeping and indiscriminate sequester cuts.\u00a0 The deal begins targeting the main driver of our national debt: mandatory spending.\u00a0 In total, this agreement reduces the deficit by $23 billion and spends less than previous GOP budgets.
