Mayorkas is under investigation by the department’s Inspector General over allegations that he mismanaged a visa program for foreign investors to benefit political allies,” said Congressman John Carter Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. “The fact that the Senate changed their rules so that they could expedite the confirmation of a candidate who is under criminal investigation is appalling.
