This funding comes through the U.S. Department of Justice\u2019s (DOJ) Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, which facilitates collaborative efforts between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and other community members to implement initiatives aimed at gang violence and gun crime reduction, prevention and intervention.\n\u201cI am pleased to announce this funding which will help make Memphis safer, reduce gun crime, and prevent gang violence,\u201d said Congressman Cohen.\nIn recent weeks, the DOJ has also awarded more than $1 million in funding to Memphis area organizations and municipal governments, including $352,416 for transitional housing programs at Agape Child & Family Services and $838,332 in funding Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funding for Shelby County, which will support a broad range of activities and law enforcement initiatives.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://cohen.house.gov/press-release/cohen-announces-gang-and-gun-crime-reduction-funding"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7371450774371624, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
