The report from House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Republicans described the process as being rife with legal shortcuts, predetermined conclusions, and politically-driven timelines.\n\u201cThis oversight report is further evidence the Waters of the U.S. rule, which imposes onerous regulations on farmers, homebuilders and energy producers, was politically driven. This rule must be repealed.\u00a0 If a more specific definition of Waters of the United States is required, then a legal process with appropriate opportunity for public comment and proper interagency consultation must be followed. I intend to introduce legislation next year defining WOTUS in code since politically motivated bureaucrats seem incapable.
