Cuellar Announces Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity Internships for College Students \r\n   \r\n    \r\n       \r\n      \r\n  \r\n    \r\n      f \r\n      t \r\n      #\r\n      e\r\n      \r\n      \r\n    \r\n    \r\n      \r\n        Washington,\r\n        December 19, 2013\r\n      \r\n       \r\n    \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n    \r\n      \r\n      \r\n      Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX28) announced that the Department of Homeland Security is offering semester long internships in its cybersecurity division for current college students.\u00a0 \r\n\u201cI want to make sure that college students in Texas are aware of this exciting opportunity to gain valuable work experience and keep our country safe through service with a top government agency,\u201d said Congressman Cuellar.\u00a0 \u201cIn today\u2019s economy, students must ensure they explore experience both inside and outside of the classroom to succeed in the workforce.\u00a0 I encourage college students to take advantage of this opportunity with the Department of Homeland Security.\u201d\r\nThe Department of Homeland Security is offering 100 unpaid student volunteer assignments at field offices across the country.\u00a0 Interns will support cyber security operations at DHS's forensic labs.\u00a0 Internship opportunities are available in Austin, Dallas, Houston, El Paso, and San Antonio, as well as other locations across the country.\u00a0\r\nThe deadline for application is January 3, 2014.\u00a0 Interns will begin in Spring 2014 and participate throughout the summer.\u00a0 Learn more about the program here and begin your application here.\u00a0\r\n    \r\n  \r\n  \r\n  \r\n    \r\n      f \r\n      t \r\n      #\r\n      e", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://cuellar.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=364829"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8277259767055511, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
