{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://cuellar.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=400690", "Congressman Cuellar and TAMIU Hosts First-Ever TAMIU Alumni Meeting in DC", "2016-11-16", "2016", "2016-11", "Democrat", "House", "TX", "Henry Cuellar", "C001063", "cuellar.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "In an effort to connect Texas A&amp;M International University (TAMIU) faculty and alumni in our nation\u2019s capital, Congressman Henry Cuellar\u00a0(D-TX-28) and Dr. Pablo Arenaz, newly-named president of TAMIU, on Tuesday evening hosted the first-ever TAMIU Alumni Meeting in D.C.\r\nCongressman Cuellar received his Master of Business Administration in International Trade from TAMIU, formerly Laredo State University, in 1982.\r\n\u201cThis meeting gave TAMIU officials and alumni who currently reside in D.C. an opportunity to learn how we can help each other out in Washington,\u201d said Congressman Cuellar. \u201cThis gathering definitely opened up opportunities for TAMIU alumni in our nation\u2019s capital. I thank Dr. Arenaz and TAMIU for helping to organize our first alumni meeting in Washington.\u201d \r\nIn addition to the TAMIU officials and other alumni, three TAMIU alumni currently working in Congress attended the meeting. They include Carlos Sanchez, chief of staff for Rep. Joaqu\u00edn Castro; Jorge Aguilar, press secretary at the Office of the Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi; and Juan Sanchez, legislative fellow for Congressman Henry Cuellar.\r\nTAMIU was ranked first in the nation among the \u201cTop 10 Colleges with the Highest Hispanic Enrollment\u201d according to the 2015 U.S. News and World Report. TAMIU also ranked fourth for \u201cBest Bang for the Buck\u201d among the nation\u2019s Southern Schools by Washington Monthly magazine\u2019s 2016 College Guide.
