During the border tour, over 350 pounds of narcotics were also apprehended by agents.\r\n\u201cYesterday, I joined Border Patrol agents with the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455 on a tour of the border on the banks of the Rio Grande. The bravery and professionalism of these agents is truly commendable.\r\n\u201cDuring the tour, I discussed issues dealing with border security and the agents\u2019 needs on the ground including support for the maintenance of river roads, technology upgrades and vehicle maintenance.\r\n\u201cBorder Patrol agents are hard-working and dedicated law enforcement officers who have an extremely difficult job. This is why I will continue to support our men and women in green to continue to provide funding to help them with securing our nation\u2019s border.\r\n\u201cI thank Agent Hector Garza, president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455, and other agents for their service to our country and for providing me with yesterday\u2019s border tour.\u201d\r\n\u201cCongressman Cuellar has been a strong advocate for border security and law enforcement.
