The bipartisan bicameral legislation was introduced in the Senate by Senators Boxer and Coburn and in the House by Representatives Capps and Harris.\u00a0 The Senate version of the bill was passed by the House and now heads to the President for his expected signature.\u00a0\n\u201cThe HOPE Act is exactly the kind of bipartisan legislation that will improve lives and have a positive impact on our healthcare system,\u201d said Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. \u201cAs a physician for nearly 30 years who has conducted medical research, I know firsthand how medical innovation often outpaces government laws and regulations.\"\n\u201cI have seen numerous times the life-saving joy that an organ transplant brings to patients and their families.
