{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["http://harris.house.gov/press-release/rep-harris-criticizes-%E2%80%9Cgold%E2%80%9D-health-care-benefit-members-congress", "Rep Harris Criticizes \u201cGold\u201d Health Care Benefit for Members of Congress", "2013-10-03", "2013", "2013-10", "Republican", "House", "MD", "Andy Harris", "H001052", "harris.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Washington, D.C. -\u00a0 Congressman Harris released the following statement on President Obama's plan to give Members of Congress the \"Gold\" health care benefit:\n\u201cUnder Obamacare, Members of Congress and staff will receive special treatment unavailable to the American public.\u00a0 Members of Congress will receive subsidized health insurance coverage on the exchanges established by Obamacare, even though employer subsidies are specifically banned for everyone else.\u00a0\nIn addition, under a notification issued this week, Members of Congress can only select among \u201cGold\u201d tier health insurance, rather than lower-level \u201cBronze\u201d or \u201cSilver\u201d plans.\u00a0 Taxpayer subsidies will be provided to Congress only for this \u201cGold\u201d level health care.\u00a0\nThis is another reason why some in Congress are so desperate to pass what they call a \u201cclean\u201d funding bill:\u00a0 because they want to protect their subsidized \u201cGolden\u201d health care benefit.\u00a0 This special treatment, as well as all special treatment under Obamacare, must stop.\"\n###\n\u00a0\nCongress makes the law and Congress can change the law \u2013 including ending the taxpayer subsidy of their \u201cGolden\u201d health care benefit.\u201d", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["http://harris.house.gov/press-release/rep-harris-criticizes-%E2%80%9Cgold%E2%80%9D-health-care-benefit-members-congress"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9293621405959129, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
