Our universities and colleges need to know what industry needs in order to provide valuable research and train workers. By providing needed direction to the administration for regional hubs of innovation, like northern Illinois, the bill brings together our country\u2019s vast research capabilities to help align our public and private institutions,\u201d said Rep. Hultgren. \u201cBy reauthorizing the Regional Innovation Program, this bill allows local regions to pool their resources and work together in \u2018industry clusters.\u2019 Giving preference to local Workforce Investment Boards, which are working to find jobs and opportunities for my constituents, ensures taxpayer dollars are not wasted.
