My sympathy goes out to the families of these officers and as a senior member of the House Committee on Judiciary, I look forward to working with law enforcement, government officials, and community leaders to make our communities safe for everyone.\u201d\nI applaud Suzan Johnson Cooke the former United States Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom who appropriately indicated that these discussions should include religion and race. The Civil Rights Movement spoke about equal access and the right to vote.\u00a0 Now we must establish a movement that reaffirms our unity as Americans and the importance of a justice system based on truth and order\u00a0 and that ultimately puts an end to racial profiling and establish procedures that will enhance and affirm the important status of America\u2019s law enforcement.\u201d\n# # #\nCongresswoman Jackson Lee is a Democrat from Texas\u2019s 18th Congressional District.
