The influential E&C Committee has broad legislative jurisdiction over health care, energy policy, telecommunications, and consumer protection. It oversees the Departments of Energy, Health and Human Services, and Commerce, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Trade Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Federal Communications Commission.  \n\t\u00a0  \n\t\u201cThe issues before the House Energy and Commerce Committee drive and define the Massachusetts economy,\u201d said Congressman Kennedy. \u201cWhether it\u2019s improving access to the innovation economy, tackling critical public health priorities like substance abuse, or setting an energy policy that puts consumers and the environment first, the challenges before this Committee directly intersect with the needs of my constituents back home in the 4th District.
