Growing the Economy through Information Technology\u201d program, which provides adult educational training for Granite Staters who aspire to work in industries that require information technology skills.\n\u201cNHTI and the \u2018Get IT\u2019 program are doing fantastic work training Granite Staters of all ages for 21st century jobs that rely on expertise in information technology,\u201d said Congresswoman Kuster.\u00a0 \u201cWhen we invest in our workforce, our students will be more competitive in the job market and our businesses will be more successful in the economy.\u00a0 I congratulate NHTI on this grant award and look forward to seeing their continued efforts on behalf of Granite State workers.\u201d The Get IT program is a project to develop a range of professional training pathways geared toward high-tech industries. Recipients will use the funding to hire and train instructors, expand online learning platforms, develop new classes and training models, and work with local employers to design programs that focus on relevant skills. \u201cThis award from the U.S. Department of Labor will allow NHTI to build capacity in its Information Technology associate degree and certificate programs to help fuel New Hampshire\u2019s many computer-based industries,\u201d said Pamela Langley, Vice President for Academic Affairs at NHTI. \u201cAlready a major producer of graduates in STEM fields, NHTI is very excited to have been awarded these federal funds to develop new and exciting options for students who will themselves become part of\u00a0New Hampshire\u2019s strong and growing technology workforce.\u201d Last year, Congresswoman Kuster introduced legislation to provide tax incentives to businesses that partner with community colleges and other educational institutions to strengthen workforce development for students.
