Nearly 7,000 NFIB members are in New Jersey.\u00a0 One of those members, Glen Gardner resident Mike Yates, presented Lance with the award. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\n\u201cThousands of new jobs in New Jersey every year come from small businesses that start from the ground up or expand to take on a new challenge.\u00a0 In Washington, I vote for policies that let people keep more of what they earn, get regulators off the backs of innovators and a tax system that is fairer and flatter.\u00a0 And here in New Jersey,\u00a0 I regularly meet with and talk with people like Mike who face these challenges every day.\u00a0 I support policies to put more consumers in stores and restaurants and to boost economic growth across the country,\u201d Lance said after the presentation.\u00a0\nThe National Federation of Independent Business, is one of the top national organizations representing the interests of small businesses in New Jersey and across the U.S.\u00a0 The Guardian of Small Business is NFIB\u2019s most prestigious award.\u00a0 It is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with NFIB on the key issues identified by small business owners.\u00a0 Lance received a 100 voting record during the 114th Congress.\nMichael Yates runs his own human resources business, Michael F. Yates &amp; Company, Inc., in Washington, N.J.\u00a0 He said, \u201cCongressman Lance has worked hard for small businesses, has fought for small businesses in all forms of federal legislation, and has supported us by the votes he has cast.\u00a0 I am proud to recognize Congressman Lance for his devotion and efforts and present him with the Guardian of Small Business Award.\u201d\n\u201cMany elected officials claim that they are champions of small business, but our Guardian Award shows our members and other small business owners who is really fighting for them,\u201d said NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan.\u00a0 \u201cBased on his voting record, Rep.
